Testing durations can vary depending on scale, availability of resources for installation, timeliness of sample changeover and the test’s specific requirements.
The AS 4040.2 non-cyclone regions wind load test typically takes 1 hour to complete, and it is reasonable aim to complete 4 in a day including time taken for sample changeover.
The AS 4040.3 cyclone regions fatigue test is a total of 10,361 cycles and must operate between a rate of less than 3 Hz. Depending on sample volume tests typically take 1 to 4 hours each.
Weatherproofing test durations (AS/NZS 4284, AS 2047, SNZ TS 4211) depend on the specific test brief and may be more prone to delays from small sample faults and consequent remedial work requirements. It is typical to complete 1 test in a half-day.

It is critical to know the specific test method you require, an idea of the number of tests you need and what your desired performance is. The laboratory can work with this preliminary information to begin scoping out test requirements.
We always recommend working with a certifying structural engineer experienced with the NCC to assist you in formulating a test schedule and ensuring your test data and test reports suit your project or market requirements.

We bill on daily rate, for as many tests as you can fit within a day. For a well planned and organised block of testing this can represent a very large cost saving as opposed to traditional testing at a laboratory, with more tests completed in a shorter time, and with less overall cost per test.
There may be additional costs specific to your scope to accommodate travel, test chamber preparation, equipment requirements and power requirements.
